Melanie Betancur is a Latina woman who grew up with many chronic conditions and understands how it feels to receive care at a medical setting and that it can be daunting. Melanie as a public health professional, educator, and a doula is driven in helping vulnerable populations and closing health disparities, inequities, and inequalities by building rapport and trust within the communities she is serving, educating, and supporting. Therefore, she is using what she loves to do, which is educating and supporting women and their families during pregnancy and all the way through their postpartum period. Melanie strongly believes that all women and their families deserve to be helped, supported, heard, and respected while being granted their rights especially in receiving the best evidence-based care they deserve. That's exactly what her clients and their love ones receive with her small business called Reverence Birth.
Melanie is a certified Professional Labor Doula, Postpartum Doula, CAPPA Childbirth Educator, and a Health Education. However, besides working as the CEO and Founder of her business Reverence Birth she also has a full-time job in public health, as well. Melanie holds a Bachelors of Science degree in Public Health Education from Caldwell University. As well, she obtains a Masters in Public Health with the concentrations in health disparities and health equity from the College of St. Elizabeth.
Currently she is working on expanding her career in helping vulnerable populations among different public health capacities. However, while staying true to her deepest passion which is being there for women and their families during their special and vulnerable moments of their lives during pregnancy to their postpartum journey. Melanie is not just a public health professional and a doula; Melanie can be found enjoying time with friends and family while also hearing and dancing to music.
